Sir,now i am doing BE(ECE) 2nd year .From which year i can join in any IAS academy?How i should prepare for that exam?

    You can prepare for IAS only after completion of your B.E. because of two reasons:-
    1. All subjects upto 8th semester are covered in IAS syllabus. Simultaneous preparation for it can spoil your degree marks.
    2. It is being most competitive exam in India, people prepare for at least one complete year and to compete with them, you will have to do the same.
    Raut's Classes and Chanakya are the most prestigious IAS preparation academies. The most serious candidates go to Delhi to join these classes, although, almost all cities have IAS coaching centers.

    Hi,
    It is advisable that by the end of 3rd year, you pick coaching for the UPSC exam
    Till the time you join a professional coaching institute, I would advice you for self preparation.
    For general awareness,you should read the daily newspaper and even watching the news will help.
    You could also use magazines such as CSR, Competition Master, Banking Service Chronicle, etc.
    Preparing for UPSC requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition:
    *Get the right books for Prelims
    *Start preparing at least 10 months before
    *Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis
