General Studies & History are the main subject of the IPS exam.
optional subjects are related to your graduation subject.
I suggest you that you check the syllabus of UPSC exam for IPS.

The compulsory papers are One Indian Language, Essay, General Studies and English.
The optional subjects for the exam are as follows:
