You should try to use your strengths ( study till now and skills) to your advantage. If you choose top MBA specializations HR, finance, marketing you will find yourself in a crowd of job seekers with same skills unless you do it from top b schools like FMS, IIM. Hr, Marketing, finance and operation are top 5 specializations. So a solution could be to do MBA from best b schools and with relevant specializations ( which is more advantageous to you). In your case MBA in - - operations ( top specializations for engineering) - marketing - business analytics ( demanding ) Few highly specialised MBA specializations for Engineering are- power management ( NTPI b school) - IT ( - project management The more highly specialised your MBA specialisation lesser would be competition. But it depend a lot on b school brand value. You can also explore on " choosing a suitable MBA specializations". First you decide which type of MBA you want and then a list of good b schools. B - school brand value is critical and more important than type of MBA. Your engineering stream can also be crucial factor to decide suitable MBA. If B.Tech in CS or IT then MBA in IT could be a good choice.
