There are three categories to apply for visa. SPP, Non SPP and University category. People often confuse University category with Non SPP but it is not the same. Students going to a University follows the University checklist which is just similar to the SPP. So if the student has excellent grades and IELTS score, he can definitely try applying to the universities and give them the preference over the SPP colleges.
