Is your question geared towards supply chain experts or is it more a question around how to gain expertise in supply chain management.
If it is more towards latter, than I can add a few things to what people have already written. Supply Chain Management is an area that requires a specific training

SMU-DE offers 15 specializations for its MBA students. The specializations are taken up by the students in the second year of their MBA.
SCM is offered as part of Operations Management.
