HI Balaji , I think you have confusion about this topic .There are types of NOUN and common noun is one of them .The types of noun are Common noun ,Abstract noun ,collective noun and proper noun .

we have to re-frame the question,you know.the english vocabulary is so vast that you get a new dictionary almost every year.there is no stopping the common nouns .the number increases with the growth in all fields.similarly it is not attempting classifying all the common nouns.as the world progresses there is an increase in the number of Registers of english
