Telecommunication Engineering : Scope,Future Job Prospect,Abroad,Higher Study Option

Thanks @BMTY for the invite. I being the Electronics & Telecom engineer would like to correct perceptions of some of the experts ( most humbly). EC engineers are most sought after in countries like Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Israel, Finland, France, USA etc for performing in their domain area as these countries are having robust electronics industry and are feeding electronics equipment to the entire world. However, such is not the case with India where electronics industry virtually doesn't exists. It is wrong to assume that the thriving mobile and networking industry requires EC engineers in bulk. Almost entire set up of telecom infrastructure including BSS, MSS, routers, servers, structured cabling, VPNs, wireless networks and their programs are bought from the foreign vendors. Their installation manuals, softwares, testers and network programs are so comprehensive and follow-to-install type that except at key locations, entire set-up is done by technicians. Our TV, mobile and computer industry brings entire hardware to India just to assemble them. Even Navratna PSU like BEL does not manufactures even a chip of 20 years old technology. But employability of EC engineers are there in BEL, HAL, DRDO, BARC, Defense Forces, railways, DMRC, R&D centers of Adobe, Google, IBM, Microsoft and 500 odd VLSI chip design private sector companies. Apart from that almost all major IT companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, tech mahindra, Cognizant etc hire them but not for core electronics work but in software & ERP solutions. Now having said that, still, there is maximum demand for EC seats in engineering colleges. It is not due to tremendous opportunities but due to fear of market upheavals in case of CSE &IT field.

This is very good field.These streem comes in E&C engineering.In field person need both skill & knowladge of engineering & other comunication skill.In present day life depend up on science & techonology.This field is having very good oprtunity in our contry & abrod also.Present it's come in pure engineering .The young chaps of the eage thry are opting this field .It"s give oprtunity in both state & ceneral govt.

Thanks for the tag! There is tremendous scope in the field. Telecommunications requires Telecommunications Engineers to continuously update their skills and knowledge of technologies. India has seen unprecedented growth in the telecom sector in last 5 years and this has only fuelled the need for more and more qualified telecom engineers. To be successful in the field, an individual must have : *good communication skills *excellent analytical and problem solving skills *management and organisational skills, needed to plan networks As for the remunerations, the annual average income is around 320,000 INR per year and average income for more experienced professional is around 550,000 INR or more.

telecomm is one of the reputed streams these days and the career opportunities are innumerable in this field. This field is dervied from Electronic engineering and several aspects can be related to this like wireless technologies, LAN, mobile technologies etc,.
