Tell me about the B.Sc. Statistics programme of LPU.

Constructing basic statistical aptitude for crafting researchers and scientists of tomorrow for addressing the needs of the next century. To Bridge the gap from campus to the corporate world and to upskill the minds according to the needs of industry and academia, LPU offers B.Sc (Hons. ) Statistics in tie-up with IBM. Programme provides the knowledge of traditional theoretical methods in support of modern statistical tools. LPU has joined hands with the tech giant IBM to integrate the emerging technologies with the experiential learning at undergraduate level which includes the access to enterprise software, delivery by IBM designated experts, real time industry case study and research methodologies. In addition to applied and theoretical aspects of statistics, the curriculum lays a strong foundation in other domains, such as mathematics, computers and data analytics. A broad base of training in the important areas of statistics, data analytics and mathematics will allow the student to successfully progress into professional employment, academics and research. The eligibility for the programme is Pass with 90% aggregate marks 10+2 (with English and Maths) or equivalent or Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English and Maths) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST The programme covers the pertinent topics such as ACTUARIAL STATISTICS, CLINICAL TRIALS AND EPIDEMIOLOGY, Economterics, Financial Statistics, GEOSTATISTICS, STOCASTIC PROCESSES AND QUEUING THEORY, SURVIVAL ANALYSIS, TIME SERIES ANALYSIS
