As per my experience, There are numerous research papers published by LPU faculty, scholars and students which could be found in leading journals. I must say that Lovely Professional University is committed to providing an outstanding environment for excellence in Research and Development in all disciplines. LPU has initiated several schemes to promote academic and research activities. The aim of this the initiative is to provide predictable benefits based upon achieving specific measurable quality based outcomes. They are: 1. Research Appreciation Awards 2. Grants -Conference grant, SEED grant, University Multidisciplinary Research Project grants, Matching Funds and Membership Fees. 3. Incentives and Benefits -Cash Incentives, Leave Benefits, Research Facilitation to Staff / Faculty Members of the University Registered for Ph.D. Faculty, academic scholars and students can use these instruments and facilities to conduct internationally competitive research in fundamental, applied, and medical sciences. I will share few examples: 1. LPU has bagged a prestigious capacity-building project in higher education from the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme. As a part of the international consortium, LPU will promote female entrepreneurship in India. 2. Let me give me some of the instances: Engineering Students at Lovely Professional University (LPU) have designed and created a unique solar-powered driverless bus. The bus is slated to enter into commercial service later this year and its first prototype will be utilized to welcome and ferry Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the venue of the world the largest Indian Science Congress ISC 2019 to be inaugurated at the LPU campus on 3rd January 2019. This, Five-Day 106th edition of ISC 2019 will be held from 3rd to 7th January at LPU.

Hi, Research, Innovation and Extension activities are central to the mission of the university. To augment the learning resources and promote interdisciplinary research, the university has a dedicated Division of Research & Development, which supports and coordinates research activities in the university. The progressive research policy, the appointment of research-intensive faculty, research grants, research leaves and research awards have contributed to significant improvement in the research profile of LPU. Some major highlights are :- extensive research facilities like Central Instrumentation Facility, Space Centre, Agriculture Research Farms, Animal House, Herbal Garden, Green House, Innovation Studio, Textile Testing Lab, Media Laboratory & Studio, Formulation Research Lab, XLPLAT - Patent Docketing Solution, XLPAT Patent Search Tools, Multiple Databases (Proquest, Capitaline) etc. Hosting of 106th Indian Science Congress, 15+ conferences in the last 2 years, visit of eminent scholars gave an impetus to research endeavours of students and faculty. Supportive research policy has fostered an environment conducive to purposeful research resulting in the publication of 9132 research papers, 22703 book chapters and 395 patents. Extensive grants for research sanctioned by the national and international government and nongovernment bodies amounting to Rs. 72.07 crores in the last 5 years, along with Rs. 3.84 crores of financial grants provided by the university in the form of SEED money. Research awards/incentives amounting to over Rs. 1.80 crores have been disbursed among the faculty members for their research accomplishments. Hello! LPU is always in talks regarding Research and Innovations. Research and Innovation is at the core of LPU. Responding to the immediate need of the hour, LPU contributed by undertaking purposeful research to combat the situation arised due to COVID-19 pandemic. Few of such projects are : a. Creating $ 1 million fund for COVID-19 specific research b. Development of Bharat Suraksha Yantra' c. Smart dustbin d. UV racket e. KAWACH, a pendant f. Cloud-based, AI-powered interface to detect COVID-19 from X-rays, CT scans g. Sensor-based Sanitizing POD LPU is receiving regular funds on research projects in various disciplines like engineering, biotechnology, health care, agriculture, management etc. Recently, two ERASMUS projects, one on green economy and other on women entrepreneurship have been awarded to LPU by European Union. RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS Executing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with research institutes/universities and industries for the purpose of joint research, student and faculty exchange, joint seminars and conferences. LPU is working in one of the projects in consortium entitled Enhancing Green economy in 3 countries of Asia jointly with 15 institutes across the globe including Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg (OVGU), Germany, WMU GmbH, Germany, University College of Southeast Norway, Baltic International Academy, BIA, Latvia etc. Funded by European Union under ERASMUS programme.
