The student who got 17 lakhs package having finance in specialization also have work experience and it was international placement.

The current placement report is not out yet , this is previous years which has not been updated yet . Currently there are companies like Asian paints and Dara Shaw who have given maximum placements of about 11-12 lakh pa. The 17 lakh would probably be an international placement.

The profile depends on the type of specialisation and the need of the company , you are a management trainee when you join and you have to make your nark in the coming years
