there are lots of opinions about choosing one out of java and .net... both r considered as equallly important.which is suggested?

I really do not believe in comparing the two as both have equal importance and do hold a lot of career value for the deserving candidate.
The two come under application programming and development and have a lot of coding however it is believed that .net is more programmer friendly where

Java needs more programming knowledge and codings. Whereas .net is somewhat simillar to Visual programming with lot of advanced feature. Both has its values. Choosing is based on your own interest. If you are good in C and C++ then you can go for Java, or else choose .net.
