There has been 4-years since I have done my 12th with science. Can I now do Polytechnic from a government college?

Yes, you can apply anywhere s no eligibility for graduation after 12th is required.

Yes, you can go for it. There is no restrictions for that, even if you have gaped 4 years, so you can pursue your Polytechnic and study further.

Nowadays, most of the State Governments conduct their own entrance exams for admissions in polytechnics. Eligibility criteria of Government polytechnics may differ from one another.
