No, but its easier there and we had Thapar, VIT, BITS, Nirma, etc.

You can get there too. The thing which matters the most is you and your desire to be an engineer. Although college have an important role. So you should choose wisely before going there. And of course there are good private colleges too. And I mentioned a list of that in my last comment.
