Yes, St.Xavier's is supposedly good. More important however, is the fact that without a degree, value for what you've done and further studies are difficult to come by. To become news reader in TV channels, any graduation will do, although a degree in mass communication will definitely help. You should have a pleasant personality, clear diction, command over language and enough awareness to become a successful news reader.
