To what extent do internships lead to pre-placement offers for GIBS students?

• Resume Shortlisting: Companies first review student resumes, which are prepared with assistance from the placement cell, to shortlist candidates based on academic performance, specializations, and relevant internships or work experience.
• Written Tests: Shortlisted candidates often need to appear for written tests, which may include aptitude tests (quantitative, logical reasoning), technical assessments, and psychometric evaluations. Strong analytical skills are a key requirement at this stage.
• Group Discussions (GD): Candidates who clear the written test participate in group discussions. This round assesses their communication skills, teamwork, leadership qualities, logical reasoning, and overall personality.
• Personal Interviews (PI): The final stage involves one or more rounds of personal interviews (both technical and HR interviews). Recruiters use this time to evaluate the candidate's personality, subject knowledge, confidence, career aspirations, problem-solving abilities, and suitability for the specific job role and company culture.
• Overall Demeanor: Throughout the process, recruiters also evaluate professionalism, punctuality, appropriate formal attire, and body language.

• Management Trainee: A frequent entry-level position designed to train graduates for future leadership and management roles.
• Sales and Marketing Executive / Manager: Involves branding, sales strategies, market research, and digital marketing.
• Financial Analyst: Focuses on financial planning, risk analysis, investment analysis, and corporate finance.
• Human Resources Associate / Manager: Covers recruitment, talent acquisition, employee relations, and learning & development.
• Business Analyst: Utilizes data-driven decision-making and process improvement to provide insights to businesses.
• Operations Executive / Manager: Ensures smooth business operations, supply chain management, and logistics coordination.
• Consultant: Provides expert advice to improve business performance in areas such as management, strategy, or IT.
• Specialized Roles: Depending on the chosen dual specialization, other roles like Digital Marketing Specialist,  Supply Chain Analyst,  International Trade Analyst, or Data Analyst are also common. 

The alumni contribute significantly to the strengthening of the placement ecosystem at GIBS by connecting current students with industry professionals and real-world opportunities. Many alumni are placed at influential positions across sectors like consulting, IT, BFSI, marketing, and start-ups, and they actively participate in placement drives, career guidance sessions, and mock interviews. They also contribute towards referring students for internships and full-time positions in their organizations, sharing industry insights, and mentoring students on job readiness, resume building, and skill development. This strong engagement from the alumni helps bridge the gap between academics and industry expectations and makes the placement process effective and supportive for every student.
