Why Indian Universities are not listed among top Universities in the world? Is it because, Indian Universities focus more on student employability than research?

Lack of vision and failure to exploit the available resources might be the factors that led to the downfall in terms of global rating.

Surely, Campus Politics will stand in the way. I remember of an instance when the Central Government wanted to convert a university in South India to IIEST and there was a strong opposition from teachers and students union. The project is not fulfilled even now!

A good discussion has been initiated by suni.It is also a fact that most universities concentrate on nothing. The students are not made more employable.Nor is there some quality-research.Most students are low-aiming.The teachers also encourage the trend.
