    Hi Visu, The Indian Police Service or IPS is considered one of the most prestigious among all vocations. IPS Preliminary Examination has two papers:-General Studies:For this exam you must study current events, Indian history of India, global and Indian geography, Indian economics and polity. -Optional Subject:For this exam, each candidate has to choose one subject from a wide list and prepare for it.     Prelims-One paper of CSAT on the mpattern of management entrance test, and one paper of general studies. Mains- two papers of General studies, Four papers of two optionals, one paper of essay and two quaslifying papers of Hindi and English. Refer to UPSC.gov.in and IAS portal.com.
