Hi, a course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is not a degree but a license course and only those institutes approved by the DGCA can impart training in this subject. This training course is rigorous and only a few institutes offer training on heavy aircraft and jet engines. A student from the science stream with a minimum of 50% (some institutes need 60%) in class 12th is eligible for a 3 year certificate course on aircraft maintenance engineering conducted by training schools approved by the DGCA. The course can be pursued at institutes like : -School of Aviation Science and Technology, -Delhi Flying Club, Delhi; -Indian Institute of Aeronautical engineering, Dehradun; -Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology, Chennai and many others.
