Wanna pursue MS in Automobile Engg from Germany. Should i deal with any education counselor for getting admission or should i apply myself ?

Please suggest me the way how should i proceed. Should i apply myself with Daad help or should i choose any education counselor like the Chopras, Edwise. Tell me the pros and cons of dealing with these people. I heard lot about fraud cases by some counselors in India.
