Newton's third law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means that when one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first object. For example, when you push against a wall, the wall pushes back against you with the same force. This is because the force you exert on the wall is the action, and the force the wall exerts on you is the reaction. Another example is when a bird flies by flapping its wings, the bird is pushing air downwards, and the air is pushing the bird upwards with an equal and opposite force.
