Hi Lakshmi, A Financial Planner is an expert in the process of financial planning which essentially involves: establishing and defining the client-planner relationship; gathering client data, including goals; analyzing and evaluating the client's financial status; developing and presenting financial planning recommendations and/or alternatives; implementing the financial planning recommendations and monitoring the financial planning recommendations. Financial Planner specifically gives his analysis and advice on personal financial statements, investments, taxation, debt & risk management, cash flows, insurance, stocks, and other components of personal finance. Certified Financial Planners (CFP), focus on comprehensive financial advisory to services to individuals; i.e. retail financial advisory. As a professional Self-Regulatory Organization, Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), India is meant to promote and maintain high standards of professionalism including Education, Examination, work Experience and Ethics requirements and will cooperate the Government, Regulators and other agencies to appropriately, effectively and uniformly regulate personal Financial Planning practitioners.
