    Yes definitely, hostelers are allowed to visit outside the campus but there are certain rules and regulations which a student needs to consider and follow. It is just same, when the child is at home and parents bind them with some rules to be followed which are for their own safety.
    Every parent invests their trust in the institute, for the safety of their ward, so it is the responsibility of the University to manage the student by imposing some rules.
    A student has to mark a biometric attendance while entering or exiting the hostel.

    Hostels in VIT is like jail. With many rules and restrictions, you can not go out at night as there are in timings specifically for girls and boys which take a staggering drop every year.
