Defence services or the armed forces are the best recruiters. They have an elaborate process of selection wherein candidate has to appear before Services Selection Board located at various locations in India. It's almost a week long process and if successful you are made to undergo detailed medical exam in one of the establishment of armed forces. If successful in this also then you are placed in a merit list and will be called up for training meaning to join, if your merit is within the required numbers.
In armed forces selection is purely based on merit and no quota exists for any category.

Two ways to Join the Indian Army after B.Tech are
UES (University Entry Scheme):
Candidates studying in the Pre-Final year (in academic session 2016-17) of the Engineering Course in recognised Universities or Institution or Colleges will be eligible to apply but must possess the education qualification at the time of joining the training.
TGS (TECHNICAL GRADUATE COURSE):
Candidate should be a male engineering graduate. Indian army decides the cut off percentage and shortlists the candidates out of all applicants. So at the time of applying, there is no percentage criteria.
