    It depends on what do you want to do. Civil Engineering is a really broad term. If what you are referring is site engineering, then most likely you would not be need any programming language. Just a basic excel and maybe a little knowledge on Autocad would be enough
    But if you intend to specialize say on hydrostructures and you will have to work with some set of problems that cannot be solved analytically. Then you would need an alternative method like FEM.
