What are all the differences between an architect and interior designer? What will be included in their job profile? Who is paid more?

I am 28, currently working in IT, earning decent salary but willing to shift due to work pressure. No work life balance. I get fascinated by colors, lights and patterns.

An architect is trained in creating a structural building that meets national, state and local building codes. An interior designer is trained in creating a functional and quality interior environment. Architects are more focused on the technical requirements, interior designers on the human psychology and emotional aspects of spaces. Architect has a better pay.

Hi, Difference being an Architect and interior designer is huge. To tell you in brief, An Architect designs the whole building including interior design of the building, whereas interior designer can only design interior spaces. So it is quiet evident that an architect earns more than an interior designer. Also doing a B.Arch now would take up another 5 years whereas Interior designing course takes 3 years (with some certification courses you can complete it in 1 year too). If you passion is driving you towards Architecture or interior design then go ahead.

As an Architect, your job is not limited to design corporate workplace rather than you have to design houses, colonies, apartments, hospitals, hotels, stadi
