What are instructor-paced courses on edX?

<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">These are fixed schedule courses that have specific due dates for assignments and examinations. Students need to complete the course with the defined time periods. In these types of courses, course material is available at specific time as that course progresses. Those students who have passed the course in short span after course completion, will be awarded with certificate. Unlike self-paced courses, instructor paced courses do not offer course material as soon as the course starts. In case of instructor paced courses, '</span><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Instructor-led on a course schedule' is mentioned on that edX course page for the convinience of enrolled learners.</span></p>
