What are software course options after B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering ?

I completed my B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering stream. Now i am learning Java course. Is it possible to settle in software industry? and how can i get good job?

I recommend to get expert level knowledge about C/C on UNIX patform.There are very shortage of professional in these areas. Note : Everybody is doing or getting knowledge on JAVA, .NET so supply is 10 times as compare to demand
