Since it is your first year, you will undoubtedly attend a fresher's party; make sure you rock it (of course, appropriately) so that your seniors and batchmates will remember you that way. Put on your the nicest outfit, bring out your the greatest qualities, and demonstrate all of your kindness to draw in your target demographic.
Talk to everyone, share what you're excellent at, and you'll learn a lot about other people's hobbies as well as those who have similar interests to your own.

Dress up the best you can and bring out the best in you, show all the goodness you possess so that you'll attract your league of people.
