As a passout student of Techno India University I can pretty much say that you should do this in the first year to learn and enjoy in the university together. First of all do not fear the seniors they will try to dominate you and do not enter in the politics it's pretty harsh in the university because I saw some of my friends did doing that and didn't even pass they got backlogs. You've to keep your distance from those guys otherwise you'll get influenced as well. After that you should explore the campus the labs and the workshop area as well.
