    Differences between a creative director and an art director are:
    If you're an art director and you create/lead a project that's designed appropriately, you've done your job. It doesn't matter whether that appropriately designed project achieves any of your customer's (or boss's) goals, because that's not in your job description. However, if you're a creative director and you create/lead a project that's designed appropriately but doesn't meet your customer's or boss's goals, you haven't fulfilled all of the duties of your job.     The major differences between a creative director and an art director are:

    A creative director typically has work to do in the early phase of the project. They get the task to develop the concept. They oversee the entire team, which includes the copy chief, photographer and art director. Many creative directors ultimately work their way up through the ranks to become partner or CEO.
