First of all, you need to check the last year's cutoff of different branches of different colleges for both the Home State quota and the Open State quota. Because 50 percent of seats are reserved for Home State quota students and around 50 percent of seats are reserved for Open State quota students.

After seeing the previous year cutoffs fill those choices that are close to your rank (Close means plus minus 2,000 - 5,000 rank difference ).
