    The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Special Class Railway Apprentices' examination (SCRA) to select candidates for the Mechanical Department of the Indian Railways. This is a class-I service and these officials constitute the top rung cadre of the mechanical wing of the Indian Railways. Syllabus is given as under:
    Paper I
    *English: The questions will be designed to test the candidates' understanding and command of the language.
    *Psychological Test: The questions will be designed to assess the basic intelligence and mechanical aptitude of the candidate.
    *General Knowledge
    Paper II
    *Physics
    *Chemistry
    Paper III
    Mathematics
