What are the advantages and disadvantages of pursuing undergraduate engineering course from US?

I am appearing 12 CBSE board exams in 2014 from oman . I have scored SAT II full and SAT I 2000 I have applied in some us top univercities I can get in any NIT through NRI quota.

Engineering Courses in the US are well known globally. The practical approach they adopt is what distinguishes it from Indian colleges. The only disadvantage I see is in terms of Investments as it can range from Rs.8-40 lakhs annually. Hope this helps. Please feel free to raise more questions.
