What are the available opportunities after completion of B.Pharm?

There are lot of scope. I am going to talk about the paths commonly opted by students: Getting a job directly after B. Pharma: Graduates who do not wish to pursue post graduate studies or plan on doing them later try to get jobs after B.Pharma. Jobs are usually offered in the field of sales and marketing. Some also work as pharmacists in hospitals whereas some are able to secure jobs at manufacturing facilities of pharmaceutical companies. Some also set up their own pharmacy. MBA after B. Pharma: Some students pursue MBA after B.Pharma whereas some pursue it after gaining a few years' experience (usually in sales and marketing). Depending upon your talent, qualifications, and how good your MBA school is, students are offered jobs in higher management of pharmaceutical companies. Pharma MBA is also offered by some colleges in India.M.Pharma after B. Pharma: Students interested in academia and R&D take up M.Pharma. M.Pharma can be done in many fields like pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, clinical pharmacology, pharmacognosy, biotechnology, etc. M.Pharma graduates either join the industry as scientists or as lecturers in universities. Some M.Pharma students pursue a Ph.D. which is required to become a professor in good Indian universities. A lot of Ph.D. holders also join the industry. (There is a difference between a lecturer and a professor) MS/PhD after B. Pharma: Motivated students who pursue undergraduate research and gain experience via internships along with good scores in college can apply for MS or even direct Ph.D. programs abroad. GRE and TOEFL/IELTS may be required depending upon the country and university. The competition is usually very cutthroat as you are competing with applicants from all over the world.LLB after B. Pharma: This is a very uncommon route. Some B.Pharma graduates pursue LL.B and become lawyers. They usually later specialize in pharmaceutical jurisprudence, intellectual property law, patents, etc. Hope this helps.

Hi, Getting a job directly after B.Pharma is little troublesome, if you're not looking for job in sales and marketing and want a career in research or some other job then you'll have to pursue higher studies. Students interested in academia and R&D take up M.Pharma or Ph.D. It will not only add a higher degree and greater career opportunity to your CV but also you can become a professor in Indian universities. For this CSIR NET exam is held twice a year: CSIR NET Exam - Assistant professor. Other career options are: - Pharmacist - Drug Inspector - Drug squad in police department - Technician in college - Medical underwriter - CRO - Data validation associate Pharmacy entrepreneur - like Norman Niven Employee or entrepreneur: what type of pharmacist are you? Production and quality assurance in pharmacy companies. If you are familiar with C+, you can plan to learn Bio Suite software that is widely used in big Pharma companies. Pharma MBA is another career options one can opt for. Overseas career: Those who wish to settle in abroad with pharmacy career have to appear in GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, etc. entrances.
