    In India, Ph.Ds operate in a three-tiered system, commencing with an undergraduate Bachelor's degree, followed by postgraduate Master's and Ph.D degrees. In some cases, candidates can do Ph.D without doing post graduation too, but they will usually be required to complete a larger coursework component when enrolling for a PhD. So, you can choose what you want to do.

    Benefits of doing a PhD after a course in CS:
    Received proper training for conducting scientific research and problem solving in general.
    Obtained in-depth knowledge about a specific field.
    Had opportunities to work with very smart people.
    Realized how little I know in general (so never stop learning).

    Ph.D in any field by itself has no scope.
    Ph.D is not a course that you should pursue to get a job. It is a course that needs to be done with a lot of thought as it is after a lot of work experience that you will be able to get the benefits of a Ph.D.
    Ph.D is considered as the highest expertise on a topic. So, after Ph.D, you will not go out looking for jobs but is rather content with sharing knowledge and giving opinions. This is apparent from what almost all doctorates do. An individual with a Ph.D degree either works as a Principal/Dean or sought-after (executive/non-executive) Director or has a booming practice in his/her chosen fiel
