Placement Process:
The campus placement process at IIT Bhilai begins in the month of September every year. The entire placement process looks like the following:
-Sending an e-mail: Companies are required to send an e-mail to the placement cell of IIT Bhilai, showing interest in the placement sessions.
-Company registration: Interested companies should register on the company registration portal on the placement website of IIT Bhilai.
-Fill out necessary forms: The companies must fill in the certain necessary information and fix a date for Pre- Placement- Talk.
-Plan for PPT: In the next step, the companies release all the necessary details for the candidates such as job description, probable CTC, etc. through the college placement office.
-Conduct Tests: Online/ Offline tests are conducted for the screening students.
-Interviews: Interviews dates are finalized and conducted for the selected students in the screening tests.
-Result declaration: A list of selected students is provided to the placement cell and published for the students.
Placement guidelines for students at IIT Bhilai:
-All the students who are willing to take part in the placement process are required to register on the student placement portal within the given timeline.
-They can complete the registration process by remitting a registration fee of INR 1000.
-The registered students should compulsorily attend the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) conducted by the companies they are willing to apply for.
-Once applied, it is mandatory for a student to participate in the entire placement process. They are also required to carry their identity card throughout.
-The student must have cleared the English Skill Test (during the first semester).
-All the appearing students should be formally dressed and punctual for each activity they are a part of.
Eligibility criteria for placements:
-All the UG, PG, and PhD graduating students of IIT Bhilai are eligible to be a part of the placement process, provided that they meet the following requirements:
-The candidates are registered students at IIT, Bhilai
-They must hold a CGPA of 5.0 or more at the time of registration
-At the time of registration, the student should not have maximum credit left for completion. They should have less than 84 credits for UG and 60 credits for PG to be completed in their respective programs.
-All graduating students are eligible to be a part of the placement process unless they are debarred from the placement activity due to any disciplinary action by the placement cell or the institute.
-All full-time PhD scholars are eligible for campus placements.
Campus Placement Statistics- Year Wise:
For the year 2021- 22, 125+ job offers with an average annual salary of more than INR 14 LPA and the highest annual salary of INR 27.43 LPA were offered to the students of IIT Bhilai. 100% placement was recorded in the M.Tech- CSE department for the year 2021- 22. A lot of private sector companies, followed by start-ups, MNCs, Government owned companies, public sector companies, etc. have come for the placements of students in its four sessions of placements.
Here are the year-wise campus placement statistics of IIT Bhilai:
2019- 20: Around 71 recruiters with 84 offers participated in the campus placement activities for 118 eligible students, out of which 67 got placed with an average CTC of INR 10.89 LPA.
2020- 21: Around 84 recruiters with 89 offers participated in the campus placement activities for 133 eligible students, out of which 73 got placed with an average CTC of INR 11.73 LPA.
2021- 22: Around 123 recruiters with 129 offers participated in the campus placement activities for 136 eligible students, out of which 115 got placed with an average CTC of INR 14.16 LPA.

- CSE: The average CTC of INR 17.55 LPA was offered with a maximum CTC of INR 27.43 LPA and the minimum CTC of INR 4.8 LPA.
- EE: The average CTC of INR 14.04LPA was offered with a maximum CTC of INR 21LPA and the minimum CTC of INR 7 LPA.
- ME: The average CTC of INR 10.15LPA was offered with a maximum CTC of INR 16 LPA and the minimum CTC of INR 6LPA.
