As far as Android is concerned it has a very awesome future ahead. Everything is going mobile these days, from shopping to clothes, booking movie tickets, booking railway tickets or to order vegetables at doorstep, etc.
Most of android developers work for the companies in India, some of them are working as freelancers and very few are working on their own ideas.
In India many companies are hiring android developers (almost 6 of 10) and startups are offering really handsome packages to smart developers.
If you have good hands on Java then it is easy to learn android development.

Android was acquired by Google during 2007. After that, they are making changes to every new version. Android is basically an open source so the price of Android phones will be less. Though it's not as improved as iOS but still India is one of the best markets for Android users so if you want to live and become an Android app developer, it will be worthy enough. You may be working for a start-up company like Food Panda, Practo, etc. or you can work with some MNCs which are service-based companies. The last option you have is to have your own startup.
