What are the career & job prospects in India for Avionics?
-
Their work encompasses tasks related to designing and programming electrical systems onboard spacecraft, aircraft, and satellites. Avionics engineers provide computer system support for all communication, navigation and guidance systems and perform testing to ensure that those systems are working properly. Avionics engineers must have engineering, computer, and technical knowledge. They must also be adept at understanding how to solve problems and to implement ideas. Generally, avionics engineers work as members of a team. As such, they are required to have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Avionic systems include communications, navigation, the display and management of multiple systems and the hundreds of systems that are fitted to aircraft to perform individual functions. Generally, electronics and telecommunications engineers specialise in the field of avionics. Avionics is niche area of expertise. Avionics engineers have job opportunities in as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer A.M.E. With air operators, avionics manufacturing companies, maintenance engineering, research engineers, quality controller, software developer, etc.
-
Avionics engineers may assist in installing and servicing avionics communications equipment. They ensure that newly installed systems and those that have been repaired meet requirements mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration and specifications set by aircraft manufacturers. They participate in designing, purchasing, testing and calibrating avionic systems such as computer and electronic communication panels. Job profiles in this sector are
Aeronautical Engineer
Aerospace Engineer
Senior Software Engineer
Technical Project Engineer
Design Engineer
Pay scale generally varies from 5-7 LPA. ISRO is the main recruiter for this profile....more -

2 years agoTheir duties involve developing and programming electrical systems for satellites, aeroplanes, and spacecraft. All communication, navigation, and guiding systems are supported by avionics engineers' computer systems, and they also test each system to make sure it is operating properly. Engineering, computer, and technical expertise are prerequisites for avionics engineers. They must also have a strong aptitude for problem-solving and concept implementation. Avionics engineers typically collaborate with others in a team. They must thus possess strong interpersonal and communication abilities. -

Avionics is that branch of science which deals with the machines that are for communication, navigation, weather forecast and tracking. It is used in satellites, aeroplace, spacecraft and rockets.
Any student who wants to make a career in this field has to complete either Diploma or B.Tech in avionics. For joining this course, a student must have to pass his class 12th exam with at least 50% marks with maths and physics as a subject. There are many colleges in India which are offering this course such as IIST, Hindustan University, UPES-Dehradun. Nowadays, airlines have become an easy way to move from one place to another so its demand...more -

7 years agoHello,
Avionics is a generically used word for almost each and every electronic equipment onboard the aircraft. These days with the advent of technology in the field of electronics and radar, a whole lot of new stuff finds its way in the cockpit. In India unfortunately, due to lack of spending money on frontline research, no new products have come up and as a result, we had to depend on foreign suppliers only. BEL is the government company in this area besides some DRDO labs. However, this has not prevented engineering colleges from introducing courses in avionics. Unfortunately, the prospects for the young graduates is quite dismal. Th...more -
