The ground crew is responsible for –
Handling all the loading and uploading of the passenger luggage from the aircraft.
Directing the landed aircraft to taxi spots.
Providing services such as steps from the aircraft for passengers and crew to disembark the aircraft.
Loading food and beverage in the aircraft.
Preparation of the flight plan, fuel, weather condition and other important information.

Ground handlers are usually responsible for fueling planes. This requires being able to drive and operate fueling vehicles.

Ground operations team play a major role in running the airplanes with ramp planner and flight dispatchers. Ground operators control the aircraft at the airport as well in aerodrome. In India, as per the data of passenger traffic released by bureau of civil aviation, passenger traffic is showing an increase of 15% to 20% year on year. In addition, plans made public by the private airlines also indicate that these airlines have placed huge orders for purchase of aircraft. Once these aircraft start arriving, requirement of personnel for Ground Operations is bound to increase. As a matter of fact, all these airlines have already started the preparations for induction of these personnel, their training etc.
