    It is indeed a minefield of opportunities as it is emerging and few people have proficiency in it. But the flip side is that as the platform requirements are costly, the jobs are not easy to find.
    You need to buy an iPod device, say iPod touch firstly, for your app development. In my opinion, join a boot camp to get hands-on exposure of the platform and its limitations. Then, it boils down to your programming and cognitive abilities.
