What are the career & job prospects in India for PL / SQL?

A database management system is a computer software application that interacts with the user, other applications, and the database itself to capture and analyze data. A general-purpose DBMS is designed to allow the definition, creation, querying, update, and administration of databases. DBMS can be used to manage transnational databases, such as HR systems, banking systems and so on. Database Developers are responsible for planning, managing, developing and maintaining database management systems. If you do any of Computer Science or IT graduation degree, you will able to get skills to be database developer (PL/SQL) as part of degree syllabus in RDBMS course. There are multiple computer education/ training institutes which offer courses on database development. Once you have basic knowledge after undergoing course, it is advised that for a good career as a database developer, you can work to get certification such as Oracle Certified Associate: PL/SQL Developer. Indian IT Industry major businessmen are Application Development and Maintenance. PL/SQL developers can easily find a job as a database developer for fields such as BFSI, Healthcare, Travel & Transportation, Retail, Telecom, etc. For a long-term career, it is advisable to gain IT or computer science graduation degree along with PL/SQL developer certification.

Database developers are in charge of organising, running, creating, and upkeep of database management systems. You can obtain database developer abilities (PL/SQL) as part of your degree programme in RDBMS if you pursue any computer Science or IT graduate degree.

SQL (structured query language) is a programming language specifically created for databases. It's the most widely-implemented database language; everyone has a need for SQL. A PL/SQL developer is responsible for reliability, and performance of information source and also for planning, growth, development, and protection of information. At the same time, problem fixing is also made whenever it is required. One can get jobs like: 1)Business Analyst 2)Senior Software Engineer 3)Senior SQL Server Database Administrator 4)Quality Assurance Tester 5)Net Developer 6)Systems Administrator 7)Software Engineer 8)SQL Server Developer 9)Quality Assurance Analyst 10)Senior Database Administrator An SQL programmer can get jobs in almost all fields like IT, banking, app development, etc. They can get employed in the companies like Bank of America, Capgemini, Walmart, etc. Not only in these but also in the places where it is needed to maintain the databases such as colleges, hospitals and so on.

In my opinion, any company with Telecom and Banking Domain Projects exploit the most out of an Oracle based Database and hence require high skilled SQL and PL/SQL. I am currently working in a data warehousing component of a telecom domain project where there is an extensive use of PL/SQL and query optimisation. If you are searching for IT companies that are developing applications of their own using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL as a backend, then you can look for EdgeVerve (subsidiary of Infosys), Deloitte (mainly uses Database concepts for Data Research and Discovery), Amazon, etc.
