What are the career & job prospects in India for Quality Assurance and Testing?

QA is all about finding bugs before they get to the customer. Companies that make mission-critical or life-saving software, of course, take bugs very seriously and invest heavily in finding them. These are good QA jobs. There are also commercial software companies that are ISO 9001 certified for software development and who develop high-quality software because their customers are willing to spend the extra money to pay for software that has been carefully tested. Companies that push software out the door as fast as possible because the software has new features already sold and promised ahead of time usually have very poor QA. These are bad QA jobs. These too are good QA jobs. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The new push toward Test-Driven Development (TDD) puts the responsibility for quality back onto the workers who should be responsible for it: the developers. If they can't write software with built-in quality tests, then they must push back on software engineering managers to prototype.
