What are the career options available after class 12th? Which engineering branch is best?

To choose the branch, first preference should be given to your personal interest about the field and the subject like in which you've more interest. If you are interested in computers, then obviously, you should go for computer engineering. If you have interest on machines then mechanical engineering is the best bet for you. Next factor is market condition. Present market condition trends of engineering students towards ECE, CSE, Civil, etc. Third and most important factor is the college you get in to. Like if you qualify for IIT, then whatever stream you get there, you will never miss it irrespective of your interest and liking. In some colleges, you would like to study CSE (like UTM Shillong, BIT Ranchi are known for CSE) and while in other, you may find petroleum as the most sought after branch (Like UPES). So college faculty, placements are also considered while making selection. Consider all the factors and then make your decision. Good luck.
