What are the career prospects in India and abroad after the completion of a UG/PG course in Geography?

Hello, Geography offers several career options with numerous specializations. -Cartography -Survey -Urban and Regional Planning -Town Planning -Remote Sensing -Climate Change Analysis -Geospatial Analyst Depending on the area of specialization, geographers might work as forest managers or in agricultural or economic institutions or as demographers in govt. and research firms. A background of geography is also helpful for a successful career in the field of travel and tourism, particularly for travel Journalism. You can also work as climatologists, geomorphologists, GIS specialists, and hydrologists. As mentioned above about the area of specialisations related to geography, I would justify the importance of pursuing a G degree in the same because a UG degree in geography gives you knowledge about all the fields associated with geography but a specialisation course in the stream of your choice will make you an expert and will help you in fetching more specific and highly paid jobs in the industry

There are numerous options available for you after the completion of your course in geography. You just have to have the courage to find the opportunities that are available for you. If we talk about India, you may consider various Universities like University Of Delhi, IP University, Jamia Millia (and Hamdard) University and Amity University for doing graduate and postgraduate courses. After completion of the course, you may find a job either in academia or particularly in various government sectors like 'India Metrological Department' or in Ministry of Earth Science. It all depends on your calibre. Whereas, abroad, you can have a lot of research opportunities. This will help you get a job in various organizations related to Geography with a designated profile. Afterall, it depends on you that how you do a course and from where you do the course related to Geography. Quality of the institution along with the quality of student matters the most.
