What are the career prospects in India and abroad after the completion of a UG/PG course in Politics ?

The scope of studying political science in India will not be limited if pursued upto higher level e.g., doing PhD/M.Phil. The students can get various scope to study functions of the govt. They can become a political analyst in any leading news media: Political editor Political advisor to our great 'intellectual' netas (politicians) and Political parties Research scholar Teachers/Professors Can work in Human rights group, NGO Law (after completing Honours/Major in political.science, one can opt for Law course) Civil services (although it is a competitive exam and requires other skills but still this subject also deals with policy making, bureaucracy, diplomacy) so it can get you more familiar with the true nature of administration. Also, students of political science have other options for choosing International Relations, Public Administration, etc. after Post graduation in Political science.

Many graduates work in government, political organisations, in Media, law, business and teaching etc. Major career opportunities as follows: (a) Public Administration as Officer or clerical support staff (b) International Affairs specialist in Strategy and Governance think tank private and public bodies (c) Media as Political analyst (d) Joining Police and Paramilitary organisation for law enforcement (e) Teaching (f) Legal profession as lawyer or judge (g) Political or Social Development activist (h) Political assistant to career politicians (I) Political Researcher (j) Social worker (k) HR professional (l) Work with NGOs etc.

Political science is a social science which deals with systems of governance, and the analysis of political activities, political thoughts and political behavior. It deals extensively with the theory and practice of politics which is commonly thought of as determining the distribution of power and resources. There are a variety of career opportunities available to graduates and post graduates of political science degree programs. Many graduates work in government, political organisations, in Media, law, business and teaching etc. Major career opportunities as follows: (a) Public Administration as Officer or clerical support staff (b) International Affairs specialist in Strategy and Governance think tank private and public bodies (c) Media as Political analyst (d) Joining Police and Paramilitary orgainsation for law enforcement (e) Teaching (f) Legal profession as lawyer or judge (g) Political or Social Development activist (h) Political assistant to career politicians (I) Political Researcher (j) Social worker (k) HR professional (l) Work with NGOs etc Undergraduates may get entry level jobs and post graduates may be considered for senior roles.
