Psychology is the study of mental thinking and behavior. This subject is the study of mental processes, motives, reactions, feelings, conflict resolution, crisis management, motivation and nature of the mind. They can get a job as a teacher in various institutions. They can work in the mental development centre for motivation and study of mental illness. They can work as a journalist or at rehabilitation offices. After doing graduation from this subject, a student has more chance to qualify civil service exam. They can also get a job in human resources department or in NGOs. After doing Masters and Ph.D program from this subject, a candidate can get an opportunity to work for research department as JR. After doing graduate or Masters course, an aspirant can get a job with an average salary of Rs 3.5 lakh per annum which increases with experience.

But if we talk about the career prospects of this course as a whole then this extremely complex and fast world has helped opportunities for psychology graduates to grow undoubtedly high. These range from working collaboratively with hospitals and schools to working and getting associated with NGOs and corporates. A UG course in Psychology is career oriented as it offers a theoretical understanding of thought along with providing practical skills in psychometric testing and various psychological tools. Specializations in the areas of Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Organizational Behavior (OB), Rehabilitative Psychology, Health Psychology, Sports Psychology and Medical Psychology are available. Those of you who opt for Counseling Psychology can further specialize in marital counseling, child counseling, family counseling, drug rehabilitation and trauma counseling. Reaching to the other most important aspect of this question I.e. difference in the scope for UG and PG in Psychology students. See, if you want to work as a psychologist, you should be having a PG pr Master's degree in Psychology. This is the minimum requirement everywhere. The opportunity for you in India and abroad after doing a course in psychology at the undergraduate and postgraduate level are immense and huge. It depends on how you explore it. Firstly, psychology is a branch of humanity which helps you to study the human behaviour and nature. In India, there are a large number of universities which offers the course of psychology at UG-PG level like University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Jamia Millia (and Hamdard) University, etc. There are few names abroad like 'Harvard School of Psychology, Stanford University, National University of Australia, Wharton University, etc. Hence, opportunities are endless. Now, when it comes to the question of 'after that? In India, you can join the teaching profession or become a personality development instructor, but you can carry out some research on that course abroad by pursuing Master's degree or a doctorate.
