To enter into this fields, there are various all India level entrance exams as well as some private universities are also offering courses in the architecture field. The job of an architect is not limited to designing corporate offices, rather they design houses, apartments and colonies, industrial complexes, hospitals, hotels, airport terminals, stadium, shopping and commercial complexes, schools, etc. Architects focus on how to make living easy and comfortable for people ranging from lower-middle class to upper-class and offer them housing and shelter with luxury and style. Diploma in architecture is 3 years long Diploma certificate programme. This course can be pursued by students who have cleared 10th standard as well as 12th standard - science stream/mathematics group. Important tasks for an architect are - designing and planning of the building, cost estimation, estimation of quantity and quality of raw materials required, securing the services of labourers and workers (prepare contract whenever required), submit plan at relevant municipal department and getting it approved, supervising project, guiding workers and taking note of progress and handing over finished project to the client. Both government and private sector job opportunities are available in front of architecture assistants. Diverse job profiles and opportunities are available for architects. Opportunities are available in PWD, Municipal Corporations, Government housing boards, schemes and missions, Urban and rural development boards. Private sector firms hire architects as architecture and interior design firms/agencies, architecture and interior design consultancy firms, private developers and builders, and individual architects.

Hello, The career growth in the field of Architecture is huge. But, it will be very limited for you, if you just stop yourself at the level of Diploma, because the Diploma programme is not much valued as the degree programme. So, it is advisable to you that go for degree programme in this field, like B.Arch. The duration of any Diploma course generally varies between 6 months to 1 year. Hence, during this short span of time, you will be able to acquire as much as knowledge which you can earn in 4 year of B.Arch course. However, it is known that Diploma course are very much practical and industrial oriented, but you cannot expand your knowledge apart from that. In B.Arch, you get the in-dept understanding in every field of Architecture. So, in this case, you are advised to go with full-fledged degree of B.Architecture. By the way, it is the best option for you if you do any Diploma. It is a course along with your degree. It gives you additional weightage.
