What are the career streams after Doctor of pharmacy?

Hi Anirudh Doctor of Pharmacy / PharmD is a new course introduced by Pharmacy Council of India. It is a doctorate level course of 6 Years Duration. 5 years of Study and One Year rotatory internship. PharmD will make a revolution in Indian Medical field. Not like B Pharm and M Pharm, PharmD focused on Diagnosis, assessment etc. of various diseases and drug management. It will lead to Clinical Practice of Pharmacist. It is expected to reduce the work load of physicians. A Clinical Pharmacist are an authorized person in Drug Management with prescribing power. In this system, doctor will first diagnose patients and send patients to clinical pharmacist by noting his findings. Pharmacist is one who is assessing the patients and prescribe Medications and its quantity . B Pharm Graduates too can entroll for PharmD programs. Duration will be 3 Years (2 years Study and One Year Training).Clinical Practice is the most important advantage of PharmD.
