What are the degree options available in Physics programme at Massachusetts Institute of Technology?

<p>MIT offers two options. to complete the degree, the Flexible track or the Focus track. Both options lead to the same degree, a Bachelor of Science in Physics. The focused track is for intensive physics, while the flexible track allows for broader exploration in other subjects as well.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Focused Track</strong>: The Focused Track is designed for students who wish to engage deeply with physics as a career. This option includes three terms of quantum mechanics, 36 units of laboratory experience, and a thesis—constituting strong preparation for a career in physics. It is comprised of three required parts: specifically required subjects, restricted electives, and a research thesis.</p><p><strong>Flexible Track</strong>: The flexible track allows students to take a broad range of courses in physics while also providing the flexibility to pursue additional majors or minors in other disciplines. It is based on a series of rigorous courses in fundamental physics topics, and its options enable many of the students to complete second majors in other disciplines.</p>
