What are the disadvantages of doing online MBA?

Yes doing online MBA does not help if you are trying to use it for your placements related objective. It will just add MBA in your resume. Neither it helps much in placement nor it will increase your practical knowledge.

It depends upon what your present qualification is and where you are now. The "MBA" alphabets will add some color to your resume and to your personality in the following ways: 1. You already have a job with not less than 5 years of experience and wanted to move ahead for management positions. So, as soon as you put this MBA in your resume, it will always reflect the better you - whether it is the value of paper or not because you need no training or no extra knowledge but need some paper to support you. 2. Generally, the graduates and IT graduates in particular join and grow slowly and at times, they wish to apply for assistant manager or manager positions - (whether it is IT industry or any other for any graduate) having good exposure, initiative values and innovative skills and then they need a support of the paper degree. That is the time when you feel that you need something extra to your mere degree. If that is the case, go for it.
